Rosario Dawson is a well-respected American actress who has been starring in Hollywood films and TV shows since the 90s. Dawson was born on May 9, 1979, in New York to Isabel Celeste who was a singer. Her biological father was never part of the picture. Instead, Rosario was raised from birth by Greg Dawson, her stepfather who was a construction worker. Her unique ethnicity is a vibrant mix of Puerto Rican, Afro-Cuban, Native-American, and Irish.

At the age of 15, Dawson was discovered by director Larry Clark who cast her in his movie, Kids. Though the film was controversial, Dawson’s performance was a standout, and it opened doors for her in Hollywood.
