Roselyn Sanchez

Roselyn Sanchez is a Puerto Rican actress, singer/songwriter, model, writer, and producer who is best known for playing significant roles in CBS’s ‘Without a Trace,’ Devious Maids, and Rush Hour 2. Roselyn Sanchez was born on April 2, 1973, in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she grew up with three older brothers and her parents. She went to primary school in San Juan, where she showed interest in acting and dancing from a young age.

Sanchez went to study marketing at the University of Puerto Rico but dropped out to pursue an acting career. In 1991, Sanchez moved to New York to take classes in acting, dancing, and singing. She went back to Puerto Rico in 1992 where she landed her first small role in a film called ‘Captain Ron.’ She also gained recognition as a dancer and host of a Puerto Rican favorite TV show.

Between 1993 and 2000, Sanchez was winning beauty pageants and making small appearances in small screen films. In 2001, she finally landed her first significant film role in Jackie Chan’s hit movie called Rush Hour 2. She went on to take on other roles in films such as ‘Chasing Papi,’ ‘Underclassman,’ and ‘Edison.’ At the same time, she released her first album whose single ‘Amor Amor’ was nominated for a Latin Grammy.

In 2005, Sanchez was cast on CBS’s TV series ‘Without a Trace,’ playing as Agent Elena Delgado till 2009. Her performance earned her an ALMA Award and multiple nominations. Sanchez is still making appearances in Hollywood movies and TV series as well as fighting for animal rights in various philanthropic activities.
