Penelope was born in 1974 in a Spanish town called Alcobendas in Madrid. Noticing Penelope’s love for the stage, her parents signed her up for a performance art class when she was just nine years old.

At the age of 15, Penelope found her true calling when she beat 300 other girls in an acting competition held by a prominent talent agency. This helped her land several roles in local TV shows up until she made her Spanish Cinema debut in a 1992 Spanish dark film Jamon Jamon.
