Selena Gomez is an American actress, singer, and philanthropist who is well known for her music and starring in many Disney universe TV shows during her childhood. Selena was born on July 22, 1992, in Texas to Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez.

Gomez began her long career in 2001 when she landed a role in the popular children’s show Barney & Friends. She made other minor appearances in several movies and Disney shows until 2007 when she finally landed her first starring role as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. The popular series ran until 2012.
