Egypt

Egypt is a desert on both the east and west, but the Nile River Valley is rich and forms the heart of this Arab country. The Nile River Valley is also one of the greatest and earliest civilizations in the world. The location of this country at the northeast corner of the African continent and bordering the Mediterranean Sea made it an important trading and cultural center. However, the area made it a prize that the empires had to claim and placed it at the center of religious and social movements.

In the year 2014, the voters approved the new constitution, which is the most recent of many versions since modern-day Egypt came into being in the 1920s. The law was a result of an upheaval that roiled the country and some other Arab nations that sought to bring authoritarian rule to an end.
